Floor Planter
Floor Planter
The blue versions are traditional indigo, a staple in Ghana weaving. The gold and green planter is inspired by village life.
Ghanaians talk about the north and south parts of the country, two areas different as can be. There are coffee shops, design schools, lushness and mansions in Accra, the capital. Northern Ghana is the edge of the Sahara, reached only by a 20-hour bus ride when we first started Ti-a. Economically, it's another planet.
And yet…
Wealth of creativity and joy is why we import from Bolga. We aim to show their products in a way that does justice to both.
NOTES
-- Water is magic to a dried Bolga basket. You’ll want to wet each planter after unpacking to flatten the bottom and make it symmetrical.
-- But it’s important to not let a planter basket soak in daily use. Water what’s in there in a targeted way – a watering can versus a hose is best – and, if displayed outside, avoid direct sunlight to keep the colors vibrant.
